RAILWAY CHIEFS AT ORPHANS’ CLUB
MANY GUESTS INVITED Mr. H. H. Sterling, general manager of the New Zealand Railways, was an official guest at the fortnightly meeting of tho Auckland Orphans’ Club on Saturday evening. Others specially invited included the executives of the Savage Club and the Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen's Association, and members of the Hamilton Orphans’ Club. Mr. E. Casey, divisional superintendent of railways, presided. The following contributed to an excellent programme: Messrs. Harold Baxter, A. F. Allen, F. Sutherland, R. Dormer, E. Mannell, Norman Tate, J. Braithwaite, F. W. Barker, Dan Flood, J. Quil, T. Searell. V. Hogg and I. Hogg. Mr. J. Sparling was the accompanist-
