NELSON BINGEN IS NOW AT MANGERE

A HIGH-CLASS SIRE SPLENDID RECORD The well-known trotting horse Nelson Bingen has been purchased by Mr, J. T. Paul, the Mangere owner-trainer and breeder, and the aristocratic sire is now in his new quarters at his owner’s suburban homestead. Nelson Bingen, wlio was bred at Ardmear Farm, United States of America, and imported to New Zealand by the Canterbury breeding enthusiast, Mr. E. Lelievre, is a bay horse by Bingen (2.6 J) from Suzette Baron, a daughter of Baron Wilkes (2.18). During the timo lie has been at the service of breeders in the Dominion the ex-Amer-ican has met with great success and each year a large number of his stock have been well up in the winning list, while many have reached the highest stage of proficiency on the race track. Two Real Champions It is not necessary to mention the numerous successful representatives of this splendid sire, but two pacers claim the special privilege in Great Bingen and Nelson Fame and in producing two champions. Nelson Bingen lias achieved wonderful distinction. Great Bingen is the recognised crack two-miler of the Dominion and it is agreed on all sides that in Nelson Fame lie pro* duced the speediest miler New Zealand has seen. Splendid Winnings During the last four seasons progeny of Nelson Bingen won over £60,000 in stake money and his total for the season just about to conclude is somewhere in the vicinity of £20,000. Nelson Bingen should prove an acquisition to the high-class stock of this district and Mr. J. T. Paul is to be complimented on his desire further to improve Auckland stock. “The greatest foal-getting sire that ever left the States” is the opinion expressed by his late owner in conversation with “Abaydos” yesterday.
