DISTRESSED SOLDIERS
HOMES SOLD BY CROWN MR. COATES PROMISES HELP Owina to unemployment, and consequent inability to meet payments, distressed ex-servicemen in Auckland have had their homes sold by the Commissioner of Crown Lands. As a result, the New Zealand ExServicemen’s League has appealed to the Prime Minister, asking for assistance for men in distressed circumstances, and suggesting that loans might be made in certain cases through the Repatriation Department. A favourable reply was received from Mr. Coates, assuring the league that the question was receiving careful consideration, and inviting the members to submit for consideration the names of men urgently in • need of assistance.
