COMMANDED BATTLESHIP IN NORTH SEA

By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. WASHINGTON, Monday. The death has occurred of RearAdmiral Victor Blue, who commanded the battleship Texas, operating with the British Grand Fleet under Admiral Beatty in the North Sea, from 1917 to 1918. He was present at the surrender of the German Fleet. Admiral Blue retired in 1919.—A. and N.Z.-Sun.

Rear-Admiral Blue, who was born in 1865, served in the Spanish War and was advanced five grades in rank “for extraordinary heroism.” He was awarded ths Distinguished Service Medal “for exceptionally meritorious service” in the North Sea and was made a Commander of the Order of Leopold by the King of Belgium.
