FIRE AT AVONDALE
HOUSE DESTROYED A five-roomed house in Willow Avenue, Avondale, along with all its contents except a piano, were destroyed by fire shortly after mid-day The Avondale Fire Brigade could do nothing to save the house, and concentrated its efforts on saving the outbuildings, which included a garage containing a valuable motor-car. The building, which was owned and occupied by Mrs. E. F. Chaafe, was insured for £750 in the South British Office, and the contents with the same company for £ 250.
