LITHUANIAN THREAT
TROUBLE NOT YET OVER By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright LONDON, Tuesday. The Warsaw correspondent of the “Morning Post” says events are shoeing that the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Sir Austen Chamberlain, was correct in describing the compromise between Poland and Lithuania as being only a step toward a solution of the problem. The Premier of Lithuania, Professor Waldermaras, in his public utterances is becoming less conciliatory. He declares it is for Poland to make proposals. These apparently must include territorial concessions or a chanrs in the status of Vilna. Poland, however, regards the frontier as havin'” been settled once for all. Under the circumstances no speedy solution of the dispute is anticipated in Poland.— A. and N.Z*
