LAST NIGHT’S MEETING

THE ALL BLACK TRIALS At last night’s meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union, Mr. C. E. Anderson tendered his resignation as a member of the committee for private reasons. It was resolved to ask him to reconsider the matter. The Wellington Rugby Union wrote advising that it had passed a vote of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. W. Cunningham. It was decided to forward a copy of the letter to Mrs. Cunningham. The New Zealand Union notified that the application for reinstatement by J. F. Baldwin had been approved. In connection with Auckland’s- protest regarding the non-playing of a big All Black trial match here, the New Zealand Union wrote expressing regret that the arrangements could not now be altered. The letter further stated that there was a possibility of the New Zealand team sailing from Auckland next year, and if such proved the case the committee would keep in view the possibility qf providing an exhibition game at Auckland. The Auckland City Tramways Club was granted permission to withdraw from the senior competition. The application of the Radio Company to broadcast the representative match between Auckland and Wellington on Saturday was approved. In reply to an application from the Waikato Union for a match in Auckland. it was resolved to offer October 8, the match to be played on the Show Grounds.
