POSTER BALL
CATHOLIC CARNIVAL EFFORT A monster poster ball in support of the Blue Queen’s campaign, in the Avondale Catholic Queen Carnival, was held in the Town Hall on Monday evening. The success attached to the event may be judged from the fact that SO couples took part in the dancing until a iate hour. The cheerful music of Paltridge’s orchestra kept the throng on its feet. A dainty supper was supplied by the Blue Queen Committee. A competition attached to the fancy costume section of the dancers was keenly contested. The successful couples were: Mrs. Green as Heard’s Chocolates, and Mr. Tobin as Buchanan’s Bakery, 1; Miss T. Teirney as Blue Queen, and Mr. Teirney as a sandwich man, 2. Messrs. Walters and J. O’Ryan acted i as M.C.’s. The satisfactory result of j the efforts of the committee should give a decided impetus to the Blue Queen’s (Miss Ivy Teirney) campaign.
