WASTED LENIENCY
WOMAN GOES TO GAOL “I was wrong in giving you the chance I did last week,” said Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., when Ettie O’Toole appeared before him this morning at the Police Court. She pleaded* guilty to charges of drunkenness and being idle and disorderly. Senior-Sergeant Edwards said that accused had been before the court on a vagrancy charge last week, and she was then ordered to come up for sentence when called upon. She had 3*l previous convictions. For drunkenness she was fined £l, in default three days’ imprisonment. On the cither charge she was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment.
