GIRLS, BEWARE!
BOGUS INSURANCE COMPLAINTS FROM SUBURBS TWIRLS who are employed in suburban homes, beware of two nicely dressed young men. They are two bogus insurance canvassers. These two men, who are said to be as nicely dressed as they are nice talkers, offer to insure the girls at the rate of 2s 6d a week. Apparently they accept the first payment of 2s 6d on the doorstep, and that is the last the girls hear of them, or their money. The bogus agents are passing themselves off as canvassers for the Government Life Insurance, but the manstated this morning that his office has no such scheme, nor does it contemplate one. The State Fire and Accident Office has a scheme for insuring domestic servants, but the policy is arranged through the employer, not through the Sirls themselves. There have been several complaints fr °m the suburban districts round Auckland of the activities of these men.
