WAR VETERAN TOO FAST. "Old Bill,” the L.G.O.C. motor-omni-bus which carried thousands of troops to the advanced areas on the \\ estern Front during the war, has been fined for going too fast. . ~ The old omnibus was taking wreaths to a funeral when it was timed by the police and it was found that it was exceeding the speed limit. The driver, John Proudman, was therefore summoned at Willesden, N.W. The Clerk: So Old Bill can still go? Proudman: Yes. He is a bit hard to start up, but he makes up for It once I get him going. . Colonel Pinkham, the chairman: I cannot ignore the history of this old omnibus, but there must be a conviction. The fine will be 10/- instead of the usual £3.
