NEW ZEALAND “AT HOME”
SIR JAMES AND LADY PARR'S RECEPTION
The High Commissioner for New Zealand, Sir James Parr and Lady Parr, were recently “At Home” to 350 guests in what will later be the library and reception room of the new New Zealand House in the Strand. Lady Parr, who appeared to be quite recovered from her recent severe illness, looked charming, in a dress of black chiffon velvet and black and gold georgette with bois de rose sleeves, a black plush velvet hat and a feather boa.
The room, formerly the library of the» British Medical Association, is a particularly handsome one, with its fine oak panelling and good proportions. Great baskets of pink hydrangeas and pink spiraea and others of pink tea roses stood out well against
the dark walls. The tea-tables were prettily decorated with pink and white carnations.
The reception was by way of a christening of the new New Zealand House, and Sir James and Lady Panare to be congratulated on a very successful function.
