WINNING ESSAY
“THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS” PARNELL BOY FIRST The result of the League of Nations’ essay, competed for by school children, was announced yesterday by Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., president. The subject this year was “The League of Nations,” and the winning essay was written by Eden Olsen (Parnell ). who receives a gold medal. Louis Durbin (Te Papapa) and Gladys Lawson (Normal) were placed equal second.
Mr. Cutten remarks that the entry was disappointing, only five schools sending entries.
