THAMES JUBILEE

PREPARATION IN HAND GREAT GATHERING EXPECTED (From Our Own Correspondent.) THAMES, To-day. Arrangements for the Thames diamond jubilee are well in hand. The Railway Department has advised the committee that holiday excursion tickets would be issued from Whangavei, Auckland, Marton, Rotorua, Waihi and intermediate stations from Wednesday, July 27 to Saturday, 30th, inclusive; also from any station in the North and South Islands, outside the area above specified; also on the Picton section to old identities of Thames and relatives on the production of a certificate signed by the secretary, Mr. W. B. McDonald, Thames, from Monday, July 25, to Friday, 29th, inclusive.

All tickets are available up to August 8. Visitors will be met at the station.

On Saturday a luncheon will be given to the pioneers and special church services are arranged for Sunday. A monster procession takes place on Monday. So far a great number have intimated that they will attend and the town is eagerly looking forward to a function that will be the greatest staged in recent years.
