SAVAGES AND ORPHANS ANNUAL CONFERENCE TO-DAY Delegates from the Orphans’ and Savage Clubs throughout New Zealand assembled at Scots Hall this morning, when the constitution of the Honorary Association of Kindred Clubs laid down at an inaugural meeting held at Dunedin last year was confirmed. Bro. T. W. Dobbie, of the Dunedin Orphans’ Club, presided over an attendance of about 40 delegates, who were welcomed to the city by the Mayor, Mr. Georgy Baildon, Bro. J. D. Crawford and Savage T. T. Garland, of the Auckland Orphans’ and Savage Clubs, respectively. In addition to the formal business of the conference, a very instructive and interesting address on "Orphan and Savage Fellowship and Hospitality” was read by Savage C. E. Jones, of Christchurch. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted: —President, Bro. J. D. Crawford (Auckland); vice-presi-dents, Bro. H. Turner (Dunedin), Savage C. E. Jones (Christchurch), and Savage Magnus (Wellington); secretary and treasurer, Savage A. E. Loach (Christchurch). Presidents of the represented clubs were elected as members of the executive. During their stay in Auckland the visiting delegates will be entertained by the Auckland Orphans’ Club. This afternoon the visitors will be taken for a tour of the district, and in the evening will be the guests of the club at an evening in the Scots’ .Hall.
