Maori Land Value.—A request that a commission should be set up to determne the marketable value of the timber on the Mangakowhara block, Whangarei, and Bay of Islands counties, when the land was sold in 1917, was made in a petition submitted to the House by Mr. Tau Kenare (Northern Maori) on behalf of Kaha Porowini, of Whangarei. Sales of the land were agreed to by the Maori owners at varying prices per acre, plus the marketable value of the timber, and the petitioner says this latter price has never been determined.-
