WILL THISTLE CLUB WITHDRAW FROM A.F.A.
NO OFFICIAL STATEMENT The Thistle Association Football Club held a special meeting last evening to consider the resolution of the A.F.A. in expelling certain of its club officials and the secretary from membership. The meeting was held in comera and no official statement was made to the press. It appears that the Thistle Club is unanimous in endorsing the action ot its committee in standing firm to its opinion regarding the letter which caused the dispute, and the club’s action over the suspension of Christie. Mr. P. Neesham, sole selector for Auckland, was informed that Hisiop and Carter would not be available if selected for the New Zealand team which is to meet Canada in the third Test at Wellington on Saturday. Unofficially it is understood that Thistle intends to resign its affiliation to the Auckland Football Association. The Thistle senior team has been outstanding this season, having won all nine competition games, and scoring up till last Saturday 31 goals against 8.
