EARLY SETTLER’S DEATH
LATE MR. S. C. STREETER An early settler of Auckland. Mr. S. C. Streeter, died at his homo, Enfteld Street, Mount Eden, at the age of 80. Arriving from England with his parents in the ship Pegasus in 1565, Mr. Streeter opened the first pork butcher’s shop in Auckland. The site was in Karangahape Road, and is now occupied by another pork butcher, Mr. E. Stansfield. Mr. Streeter is survived by Mr. E. F. Streeter. Auckland, and Mrs. G. 11. Dixon, Wellington, his wife having predeceased him three years ago. The funeral took place at Waikumete cemetery yesterday afternoon.
