OHAKUNE DRUIDS
The United Ancient Order of Druids is making rapid progress throughout the Ohakune district. This is shown l>v the presence of about 40 memoers of Raetihi (Miro Lodge) at a special charter meeting held at Ohakune Junction. Seventeen new members were initiated and one joined by clearance. There are quite a number of Di uids residing in Ohakune. who have come from different parts of the country. The meeting was largely attended, more than 70 members being present. r A. Bro. D. P. The success of the meeting was due chiefly to the efforts of the District President. Bro. B. A. Drury, P.D.P. Pro. Larkin. P.D.P. Bro. W. Crawford, I .A. Bro. W. Swift. Bros. Hamlyn and li. Green: but owing to illness D.P. Bro. Drury was unable to be present. The officers carried out their duties in a most efficient manner. P.D.P. Bro. Lynn acted as master of ceremonies. The Ohakune brethren elected Bro. Whitton as assistant-secretary on their behalf. It was decided that another charter meeting would be held at Ohakune at an early date. After the meeting closed members adjourned for supper, and the usual toasts were honoured. The following members contributed items, which were greatly appreciated: j-.S. Bro. Urwin, Bros. Wood. Hunt.
