SWISS CYCLIST’S DEATH
SEQUEL TO COLLISION LEG AMPUTATED Press Association. HAWERA, To-day. Olla Ammlelin, aged 23, a Swiss resident of Okaiawa, died in hospital yesterday as a result of shock following an operation. As a result of injuries received in an accident on June 18, when the deceased, who was riding a motor-cycle, came into collision with a motor-car near Manaia, he sustained a compound fracture of the right leg. The amputation was performed yesterday. No announcement has yet been made by the police as to the identity of the driver of the car, who is alleged to have driven on when the accident occurred.
