NEW PRAYER BOOK
MOTION OF APPROVAL TWENTY-FIVE AMENDMENTS (British Official Wireless .) Reed. 11.5 a.m. RUGBY, Monday. A VERY largely attended meeting of * the Church Assembly, under the chairmanship of the Archbishop of Canterbury, began consideration today of the proposed new form of Prayer Book for the Church of England. Every section of Church opinion was represented, and the discussions are likely to continue throughout the week. Twenty-five amendments have been tabled on the motion to give final approval to the Prayer Book measure.

LONDON, Monday. The Church Assembly of the Church or England will to-day consider the revised Prayer Book for final acceptance or rejection prior to its submission to Parliament. No amendment will be allowed. The v ote is expected to be taken on Wednesday.
. Partisans are making a last effort to influence public opinion. There are many letters in the papers and frequent references are made from varying standpoints in the pulpits. Twenty Church of England clergy led a Procession to Hyde Park to protest against the Prayer Book revision, but °nly 2000 persons were attracted to the meeting.—A. and N.Z.
