MAJESTIC

SEMI-FINALISTS’ NEW TEST Preliminary screen acting tests were given on Friday and Saturday to huge and enthusiastic audiences to allow the semi-finalists to become acustomed to acting before the public. To-night there will be a new series of original and more difficult acting tests for the silent drama. New screen tests every night will be a feature of this week’s Majestic programme. A unique entertainment awaits the patrons of the Majestic Theatre when "A Little Journey” is shown. The whole thrilling, laughable and lovable multiplicity of incidents that make this picture so unusually interesting occur in a railway carriage. But excitement crowds on adventure, and laughs on romance, in so fascinating a manner that "A Little Journey” is a positive delight. It was adapted to the screen from Rachel Crother’s famous stage success of the same name. Claire Windsor, last seen in "Tin Hats,” gives an excellent performance as Julie Rutherford, a rich girl suddenly made poor. She plays every scene with grace and understanding. William Haines has a part that is perfectly suited to his talents. He has been making rapid strides since playing in "Brown of Harvard,” and has already won a tremendous following and popularity. Harry Carey, the Western star, plays the part of a millionaire with suaveness and charm. It is like meeting a new personality to see him in a "dressed up” part. Claire McDowell plays an important role.
