SATURDAY’S SPORTS POSTPONEMENTS
Heavy rains on Friday and in the early hours of Saturday morning made many of the sports grounds in and around Auckland unfit for play on Saturday afternoon, and there was a considerable curtailment of the usual week-end sports programme. No games were played at the Domain, which, in places, was covered with sheets of water, and the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club’s sports were postponed till next Saturday. No girls hockey matches were played at Remuera, and a large number of junior football fixtures were also postponed.
