BAY TEAM TRAINING CHANGES IN REARGUARD A WEEK IN CAMP Mr. N. A. McKenzie, the Hawke’s Bay seelctor, has chosen the following 21 players to go into camp at Taradale for a week’s training in anticipation of the Ranfurly Shield match next Saturday. Backs J. Smith (Wairoa), Mapuhi (M.A.C.), B. Grenside (Hastings), J. Blake (Celtic), Huxtable (Pirates), Priestly (Celtic), Te Ngaio (Wairoa), Corkill (Wairoa), Edwards (Dannevirke), Anstis (Pirates). Forwards Swain (T.C.0.8.), S. Gemmell (Wairoa), J. Gemmell (Wairoa), Strachan (H. 5.0.8.), Conrad (Dannevirke), Campbell (Hastings), Tankard (Pirates), Single (Pirates), Wilson (Wairoa), M. Brownlie (Hastings), C. Brownlie (Wairoa). The players assembled at the Taradale Hotel on Saturday evening for training until Friday, when 19 will be selected to proceed to Wairarapa. Of the team which played Wairarapa on June 3, several who failed badly, including Seal, Bailey, Carlson and N. Grenside, among the backs, have been discarded.
