An old colonist in the person of Mr. Frank Hubbard, passed away at Milford yesterday. He was a native of County Essex and was born 78 years ago, arriving at Lyttelton accompanied by his parents at the age of five. He was educated in Canterbury and engaged in agricultural pursuits in Canterbury, Whangamarino and Moarangi (North Auckland). In the latter district he was the first settler in a large block of land. He removed to Pukekohe in the year 1913. He was a staunch Methodist, Freemason and Manchester Unity Oddfellow of many years’ standing. He was married four times and is survived by two grown-up sons and a widow.
