PILLION RIDERS STRIKE MOTOR-CAR
MAN’S SKULL FRACTURED (.From Our Resident Correspondent .) OPOTIKI, To-day. A distressing motor collision occurred at Opotiki yesterday resulting in serious injuries to a motor-cyclist named Hudson. It appears two men, Papuni and Hudson, were riding the machine, and as they rounded a corner they collided with a car with terrific force. Papanui escaped with minor injuries, but Hudson sustained terrible injuries to his head and was conveyed to the Opotiki Hospital, where it was discovered that he was suffering from a severe fracture of the skull. A lengthy operation was immediately performed. This morning Hudson was reported to be still in a serious condition. The occupants of the car escaped uninjured. The car was slightly damaged and the motor-cycle badly smashed.
