ISLAND BAY AFFAIR Press Association. WELLINGTON, Friday. Police investigations into the reported disturbance at Island Bay, in which British and Italian residents attending a social were said to have participated in a melee in which knives and sticks were used, reveal that there was nothing in the nature of a fracas. Some young men wanted to join some Italians in having an impromptu concert and the latter walked off. not wishing their company. One of them may have received a blow, but otherwise there was nothing disorderly.
