FOR SPRING DAYS AND NIGHTS

YjfHEN spring comes “along with its song” and the weather'man’s prophecies read “fair and warmer,” we shall be irresistibly tempted to linger just a moment longer over our toilettes, and for such precious moments the acquisition of dainty negligees is indeed a joy. Surely the most strongminded among us cannot resist the lure of such delightful robes as we shall have in spring? A delectable crepe negligee with flowing lace sleeves and soft pleatings and swathings looked a dream garment indeed in a recent copy of a French catalogue, while for the traveller or exceptionally busy woman, without mentioning the extremely chic one, what could be more desirable than a negligee of black georgette over supple flesh crepe faille, with a trimming of huge flat roses? A flesh-coloured georgette chemise is another indispensable addition to any well-selected spring wardrobe, and may be made a joyous thing indeed with a trimming of fine lace and silk rosebuds.

A panel of softest, finest pin-tuck-ing adds beauty to many charming variations of the cami-bocker theme, while some intriguing French camiknicks were fashioned of sheer black ninon with deep triangular inserts of flesh-tinted filet.

Some charming new robes de nuit are cut along Directoire lines, the necks being cut in deep, wide alluring curves, while an intriguing note was added by the deep hem of net, such as we have previously met adorning our dancing frocks. Pyjamas grow more exotic daily—or rather one should say nightly—and in spring they will be even more delightful than ever.
