FIREMAN’S DEATH
COLLAPSED IN STOKEHOLD CORONER’S VERDICT Press Association. DUNEDIN, Friday. When the steamer Waipiata was off Oamaru yesterday, a fireman, named J. T. Baker, collapsed in the stokehold and expired. He had previously complained of pains in the chest. The inquest was adjourned for a post mortqm examination. The deceased, who is 44, lived in Wellington. At the inquest which was concluded this morning, a verdict of death from syncope, as a result of degenerated heart, blood vessels, and an old disease of the aorta, was recorded.
