ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES

Satisfaction was expressed by members of the Birkenhead Borough Council at its meeting last evening, when a letter was read from the North Island Representation Commission, stating that th€> objection of the council to the borough being excluded from the Waitemata electorate would be carefully considered. It was decided to inform the commission that the council would like to offer evidence in support of the objection, the principal ground being the disturbance of the community of interest by the division of the waters of the harbour. The council strongly advocates that the four North "Shore boroughs should continue in the Waitemata electorate.
