BACK RATES
DIFFICULTIES OF COLLECTION DETERIORATED FARMS (From Our Own Correspondent.) WANGANUI, To-day. Rates on deteriorated lands are be.coming more difficult to collect, and county councils are finding total amounts increasing rapidly. Locally the Waitotara County Council has £9OO outstanding, the Wanganui County about £4O in respect to back country farms where the owners are finding it difficult to keep going. To try and solve the problem a conference is being arranged between the representatives of the Wanganui, Taranaki, and King Country local bodies concerned.
