SOUND FINANCE
POSITION AT NGARUAWAHIA (From Our Resident Correspondent .) NGARUAWAHIA, To-day. A healthy state of finances was revealed in the annual balance-sheet of the Ngaruawaliia Borough Council. Of the current year’s rates, amounting to £3,400, some 92 per cent.. £3,150, has been collected to March 31 and £622 Ss 6d of arrears, making a total of £3,812 18s 6d. Loans totalled £41,800 and in special l'ates £1.497 has been collected. Cash in the district fund was £640 Ss, but £290 of it was earmarked for interest. Fees l-eceived for the issue of licences totalled £236. Expenditure on borough streets was £S93.
