SPECIAL FARES TO MOUNT COOK
RAILWAY DEPARTMENT’S PLAN The Railway Department has arranged attractive excursion fares for those who wish to visit Mount Cook, in the South Island. Tickets may be taken from an officered station in either the North or the South Island to Mount Cook, and the motor-car fare from Timaru to the Hermitage has been reduced from 70s to 6 3s. The tickets are available for two months from the date of issue, but may not he used later than November 30. This is another of the Railway Department's schemes to make the railways still more popular, and to enable New Zealanders to see the beauties of their own country at a reasonable cost.
