THE LEAGUE CODE
IN LOWER WAIKATO AN ENTHUSIASTIC MEETING The sixteenth annual meeting of the Lower Waikato Rugby League was held in Taupiri last evening. The meeting was most enthusiastic, one of the best held for many years. The president. Mr. R. T. Hill, presided. The balance sheet for the year, showing a credit balance of £lO 19s Bd, was received and adopted. All present were very keen and enthusiastic as to the prospects for the ensuing year. The Huntly delegates were present in full force. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Patron. Mr. T~ Main. Taupiri. president. Mr. R. T. Hill; vice-presidents. Mr. C. M. Gleeson. Taupiri; Mr. J. Durrard. Huntly; Mr. J. Morrin. Ngaruawahia; Mrs. Lowe, Ngaruawahia: secretary and treasurer. Mr. H. Y'ork. Taupiri; sole selector, Mr. W. McGruer. Ngaruawahia. It was decided to play the first game of the Senior competition on Saturday, April 23. NOTES AND NEWS Altogether the League should nave twelve teams playing every Saturday.
Ngaruawahia has every prospect of being in the limelight this season, as it is just possible that this team will have the services of Joe Menzies, Wilson Hall and I. Hutt. It has been decided to erect a League room in Taupiri at an early date. After the meeting the matter of the recent touring team was much discussed, and all delegates seemed unanimously in favour of the firm stand taken by the New Zealand Council,
