LORRY RUNS AMOK
A BOY INJURED Press Association DUNEDIN, Tuesday. Whilst a motor-lorry owned by C. and W. Shiel was being - driven along King Edward Street this morning the steering-knuckle gave way, and the lorry swerved on to the footpath, carrying away several verandah posts, and striking a telegraph pole before being brought to a standstill. A boy named Victor Mercer, aged 14 years, who was cycling near the scene of the crash, was jammed between the lorry and the telegraph pole, and i*eecived abrasions of the face and arms, and. injuries to the thigh, necessitating his removal to the hospital. DUNEDIN, Tuesday. David Crichton, aged 23 years, who lives in Pine Hill Road, and is employed by James Wright and Co., butchers, Cargill Road, was admitted to the hospital at noon suffering from injuries to the head caused through being thrown from a motor-cycle on the Brighton Road.
