SOCCER TOUR
THE CANADIAN TEAM ARRIVES NEXT MONTH Arrangements are now well in hand for the forthcoming tour of the Canadian Soccer team, which arrives in Auckland on May 23. A programme consisting of about 23 games has been arranged in New Zealand, including four test matches. The first test will be played at Dunedin on June 25, the second at Christchurch on July 2, the third at Wellington on July 9, and the fourth at Auckland on July 30. Other matches arranged are as follow: —Taranaki, May 25; Wanganui, May 28; Manawatu, June 1; Wellington, June 4; Marlborough, June 7; Nelson, June 9; Buller, June 11; Westland, June 15; Otago, June 18: Southland, June 22; Canterbury, June 29; South Canterbury, July —; Hawke’s Bay, July 13; Poverty Bay, July 16; South Auckland, July 20; Auckland. July 23; North Auckland, July 27. The last test against New Zealand at Auckland concludes the tour, and the team sails for home on August 2 from Auckland.
