VARIABLE RECORDS By comparing the records of the past ten years, says our Whangarei correspondent, March appears to be either a very dry or a very wet month. The wettest March on record was in 1920, w r hen the large total of 12.26 in. was recorded, and the other extreme is presented by March of last year when the total fall amounted to only .67 of an inch. The average for the past ten years is 4.1 Sin. Last month the fall V. as well below this average. Recordable rain fell on 15 days, and j the gauge measured 2.87 in.
