LOWER HUTT BRIDGE
GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY WANTED Press Association WELLINGTON, Monday. A deputation of interested local bodies asked the Hon. K. S. Williams, Minister of Public Works, to-day if the Government would provide a £ for £ subsidy on the cost of the new Lower Hutt traffic bridge. It was stated that the Government had already arranged a contribution of £5,000. The total cost was estimated at £26 000. of which it was propose! that the city council and the Lower Hutt Borough Council should each pay £ 7,80<J. The Minister said he would discuss the matter with the Cabinet and Main Highways Board,
