Mr. Allen Bell. M.P., who has been staying at the Grand Hotel, has returned to Kaitaia. Sir Robert Stout, K.C.M.G., is at present in Rotorua staying at Brent’s Bathgate House. During his stay he intends to take a course of baths and treatment. Mr. Herbert Money, a member of the teaching staff of the Christchurch Technical College, has resigned and accepted an appointment to the staff of a Spanish College in Luna. Peru. Mr. J. K. Lowe, District Engineer. Railway Department. Auckland, left to-day for the Bay of Plenty, where he will take o\Tr a new section of the railway line between Thames and Tauranga. The services of Mr. T. Thompson, who yesterday relinquished the position of Dominion president of the United Commercial Travellers’ Association. were eulogised at the annual conference. It Is understood that Mr. J. A. Gillett, late managing director for Gillett Motors Ltd., has been asked to fill •he vacancy on the Traders’ Finance Corporation caused by' the retirement of Mr. L. A. Eadie. Sir ‘William Sim, who arrived in Auckland yesterday, will stay here for some time before proceeding North as Maori Land Commissioner. Mr. Justice Herdman, who has been attending the sittings of the Court of Appeal, Wellington, will arrive back in Auckland to-morrow. Mr. K. de O. McVitty. former United States consul at Auckland, who was •ransferred from New Zealand to Persia, has taken up his duties as consul Stockholm. Sweden. During the absence of the Consul-General.
