Williamson Theatres, and lietro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios. Differing from any other competitions that have been held, the present one gives a definite opportunity for c New Zealand girl to go to America, with all her expenses and first-class transportation paid, t> an engagement with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios at Culver City. There she will be Riven a part in a feature film production at a salary of £25 a week during that engagement, ,ml a wonderful opportunity to learn the technique of acting before the camera from the world’s greatest directors. A training such as this opens up a boundless field of opportunity for the right girl, for should she prove capable further engagements will he offered her in one of Metro-Ooldwyn-Mayer stock companies at a salary commensurate with her ability. This in turn may be a stepping-stone to a wonderful career, which can easily lead to stardom, either in the studios of America or Great Britain, or both. This is not a beauty competition. While good looks and physique are a necessary qualification, these alone do not register in the camera, unless they are combined with a thinking intelligence that reflects through the eyes,, and in instant and graceful reaction of' the body. Every New Zealand girl over the age of 16 years and unmarried is qualified to enter the competition. Photographs of contestants will be published on April 16 and each day for eight weeks, after which entries will be closed.
