A MAYORAL CANDIDATE (From Our Own Coi'respondent.) TAUMARUNUI, To-day. So far little interest seems to be taken in municipal matters here. No candidates are announced for vacancies in the Borough Council, but there will be a contest for the mayoralty, Mr. C. A. Boles having accepted nomination as a candidate for that office. He will be opposed by Mr. G. E. Manson, the present mayor. The dental clinic established in Taumarunui for the benefit of the district has done good work among the children, but the parents are so apathetic about the service that there is a danger of the work either being discontinued or reduced.
