BAN ON DOGS.
Not Allowed In Premises Where Food Is Sold. NEW REGULATIONS. Stratford dog owners must leave* their pets behind in future shopping! excursions. New regulations gazetted] by the Health Department forbid the presence of dogs on premises used 1 for the preparation, storage or sale of food. Occupiers of such premises will be required to exhibit a conspicuous no-> tice that dogs are not allowed, audi the occupier and owner will be held equally responsible for anyt 'reach of the regulation Classes of premises to which the entry of dogs! is forbidden include restaurants, butchers, grocers, fruiterers, confection-* ers, pastrycooks and bakers' shops* and any building used for the preparation or storage of foad. The new regulations are aimed at) the prevention of hydatids, an infection convey' to human beings solely! by dogs, the incidence of which has; recently alarmed the health authorities. The new regulations will be stringently enforced by officers" of! local bodies, and breaches will be punishable by heavy fine.
