King's Theatre.
LIONEL BARRYMORE FILM. With a pack of hounds in full cry, and Lionel Barrymore as principal hunter, production of "The Voice of Bugle Ann" at the Metro Goldwynstudios was marked with an authentic representation of a traditional Mis" souri fox hunt. The new picture, a vivid romance of the Missouri farmlands, comes to the King's Theatre, Stratford, tonight. Forty-four hounds brought from Missouri were used in the hunt . Barrymore plays the central figure, and the romance is in the hands of Eric Linden and Maureen O'Sulllvan. Linden as the son, Spring Byingten as the wife, and Charley Grapewin as the old friend, were all with Barrymore in "Ah Wilderness!" Others in the cast are Henry Wadsworth, Dudley Digges James Mackin, and Billy Newell. Thorpe made a trip to Missouri,; where he filmed the exteriors and collected the hound pack, champion dogs owned by Sheriff Tom Bash of Jackson County. These include "Bugle Ann," a descendant of the original dog in the real life story.
