GOOD WEEK-END.

0 Alpinists Fiock To Egmoni SKIING AND CLIMBING. Members of the Taranaki, Stratford, Bltham and Hawiera Mountain' Clubs...were . among those skiers present at the Manganui Hut yesterday afternoon. Between 70 and 80 alpinists were at the hut and mo&t *of these were ski-ing. All of the mountain houses were well patronised over the week-end snd the snow blanket was down far enough to attract motorists. Showers on Saturday washed away much of the snow in the vicinity of tiie Stratford Houso, but there was still a fair quantity left on the plateau. The first car which left for Stratford House found some difficulty in making the ascent, but later motorists, following the broad tracks left by the committee's truck, found the path clearly defined, Many' of the climbers on North Egmont went as far as the Tahurangi Hut. Accommodation at the hostel was at its capacity, a singular oscurrence at this' time of the year.
