ANZAC STAMPS

Stratford R.S.A. President's Appeal. LAST FEW DAYS. ' 'The sales'of Anzac 1 stamps will conclude at Stratford on Saturday, June 20. There has been a slack period in sales' at the Stratford Post Office for some lime, but there has been a noticeable improvement over the past two days and a still further improvement is expected. Col. L. H. Jardine, president of the Stratford branch of the R.S.A., in a letter to The Post to-day, makes-' an appeal to the public to purchase these stamps.

"May I, on behalf of the R.5.A.," he'writes, "make a last-minute appeal to well-wishers of our movement to use Anzac Stamps for their correspondence? Apart from the philatelic value of the stamps, the cause which will benefit is as worthy as any' other in New Zealand. The fund to be established is to assist necessitous '■Diggers" and will be administered wholly by the N.Z.R.S.A. Supporter may rest assured that all monies received will be very welcome and faithfully applied."
