Everest Expedition To Return

London, June 15. ■ Tha Everest Expedition is expected to return shortly, states a Reuters cable from Darjeeling. : Mr. Hugh Ruttledge from the north face camp on Sunday night said Messrs. Smythe and Wyn Harris completed a valuable reconnaissance of the west side of the North Col. "The heavy snow covering of Everest is driving us from this high camp, which is established at an altitude of 20,000 feet," he added. "We will descend to Camp 1 at 18,000 feet, and thence will send a detailed report of'our conclusions when Mr. Smith-Windham-has reopened the main wireless."
