COUNTRY GIRLS. Programme Arranged By Mr. A. H. R. Amess. LECTURES AND TALKS. On Monday, June 29, tW'GW Educational Week organised by the Turanaki branch of the Womerfs Division of the Farmers* Union will commence in Stratford.

Intensive arrangements to ensure that the girls' i-lay* in Stratford will be belli memorable and educational have been completed by the principal of the Stratford Technical H'gh. School, Mr A. H. R. Amess, and at the meeting of the Stratford Technical High School Board last night Mr Amess submitted his plans for tke board's approval. The. plans were adopted without suggestion or amendment.

The wtiek will open on Monday night, when the girls will be officially welcomed by the Mayor, Mr J. W. McMillan. At the function, addresses will be given by Mr W. J. Poison, M.P., and Mrs Poison, the lady founder of the Women's Division; Mr McAllister, chairman of the Technical High School; Mr W. Hoskin, chairman of the Stratford Chamber of Commerce; Mr T. R. Anderson, chairman of the Stratford County Council; Mrs Cocker, president of the Central Taranaki Provincial Executive of the Women's Division; Mrs C. J. Harris, president of the North Taranaki Provincial Executive, and Mrs Benton, president of the South Taranaki Provincial Executive.

On the next morning, Tuesday, June 30, the week will commence in earnest and proceedings will be opened at 9.15 a.m., when folk dancing; will be conducted by Mits Lamason. The programme for each day will be preceded by the roll call.

The programme, drawn up by Mr Amess, is as follows, the instructor or lecturer being given in parentheses: — TUESDAY, JUNE 30. 9.15 a.m.: Folk-dancing (Miss Lamason). 10.0: Reading for Recreation (Mr. Amess). 11.15: Home Science (Miss McCluggage). In the afternoon the works of the Eltham Rennet Company at Eltham will be inspected. 7.0 to 7.45 p.m.: Folk-dancing (Miss Lamason) ; S.O, Home Nursing (Miss; Mason); 9.0, Arts and Crafts (Mr. Day); Community Singing. WEDNESDAY, JULY 1. 9.15 a.m., Physical Culture (Miss Knight); 10.0, "The Need For Keeping Fit" (Miss Knight); 11.15, "The Importance of Speaking Well and the Art of Public Speaking" (Mr. W. Hall); 1.30 p.m., Talk on Education;; 2.30, Floral Decorations (Mrs N. Douglas, under the auspices of the Stratford Horticultural Society); 3.30 Medical Talk (Dr. W. P. P. Gordon); 7.0 to 7.45, Folk-dancing; 8.0, "Musical Appreciation" (Miss Moon); 9.0, "Through America" (Mr. W. Hall);! Community Singing.

THURSDAY, JULY 2. 9.15 a.m., Physical Culture (Miss Knight); 10.0, "Dental Hygiene and the Care of the Teeth," with a practical demonstration (Nurse Marie A. Purchase); 10.30 Home Science (Miss K. Kempthorne). At 1.30 in the afternoon the party will be taken for a trip up the Mountain. 7 p.m., Talk on Drama (Mrs. Uniacke, at St. Mary's); 8.0, Play by the girls at St. Mary's. FRIDAY, JULY 3. 9.15 a.m., Folk-dancing (Miss Lamason); 10.0, "Embroideries and Tapestry" (Mrs. Bowler); 11.15, Arts and Crafts (Mr. Day); 1.15 p.m., Curio and Antique Exhibition (arranged by Mrs W. J. Poison). The week will be concluded on Friday evening with a _ social function.
