He hacj intended to go to a meet at Wilton Castle on St. Patrick’s Day, but on Tuesday,,morning he found that the hunter whiph he was to ride had gone. He missed .the meet, but later, accompanied by Sergt. Hoaly, he met .the defendant on horseback leading his horse along the road. Story of Boast. , . In cross-examination, Jackson said heel had been Master of the Bree Harriers some years- ago. He agreed that if Mass Townsend in ten died to steal the horse she would have been very foolish to bring it to a meet of the Bree Hunt. Sergt. Healy, Clonroche, said he tracked the horse from the stable through a wood to the point where the Bree Hunt met. Wheh he arrested the defendant she said .she had been hunting with the horse but was then bringing it •back. She then referred to “poach--itfg” by Jackson,, who, she said, d boasted to her that he only kept, o\Vn hounds. Mr Brennan, on behalf of the defendant, submitted that there was no intention of stealing the horse, although Jackson might have a case for for- a civil action.
