SEASON CONCLUDED
STRATFORD CROQUET CLUB’S CLOSING DAY. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. To mark .the end of a most successful season the official closing day of the Stratford Croquet Club was held yesterday when in fine weather and on lawns that, despite a season’s play, were in excellent condition, a number of competitions were played. A largo number of members and friends were entertained at afternoon tea by the president, Mrs. A.* H. Hillock. Mrs. Hillock also look the opportunity of presenting the trophies won during the year and commending the winners on the high standard of play that made their success possible. Trophies' presented were: Senior championship: Mrs Brocklebank, runner-up, Mrs. Moon. Junior championship; Mrs. Davis, runner-up, Mrs. SummerfieJd.
Butcher Cup; Mrs. Hillock, runner up, Mrs. Brocklebank.
Club Trophy; Mi’s Butcher, runnerup, Mrs, Vinson'. ' i. Trophies for the most progressed Player during the year were presented to Mrs. Cook (B section) and Mrs. Childs (C. section). In the competitions ‘held during the day the following ladies were successful 1 : Mrs. Vinsen and Mrs. Cooper (golf croquet), Mrs. Summerheld (zig zag), Mrs, Bamford (numbers). A hearty vote of thanks tv as accorded Mrs. R. F. Harkness for her donation of a handsome oak honours board for the junior players.
