Kennedy recording 810 points of rain, Silkwood 800 and Cardwood 725, while Townsville has averaged 400. The Breaksea lightship, marking the spit at the north of Sandy Cape, broke adrift during the cyclone. A steamer reported the lightship was drifting 75 miles out of its position.
